Our partner restaurants play a valuable role in supporting local farmers and share our vision of a robust Wellfleet shellfishing industry in the future. From 2021 through 2025, the Outer Cape Restaurant Shell Program has supported up to 21 local restaurants by diverting over 220,000 pounds of shell from the waste stream. Shell recycling helps close the loop between growing, harvesting, shucking, and eating shellfish by returning shells to the water for the next generation of oysters to grow.
