INTERN WITH US
WOA Oyster Ambassador.
Oyster Ambassadors serve as seasonal educational guides, supporting outreach and community engagement.
Responsibilities may include:
Staffing the WOA Wellfleet Farmers’ Market booth
Engaging visitors in conversation about oysters, shellfish, and local waters
Explaining what WOA does including shell recycling, farm tours, OysterFest, Art & Oyster, membership program, community grants, academic scholarships, and more
Assisting with setup, breakdown, and outreach logistics for events
Sharing information about participating restaurants and sustainability efforts
Interns will gain experience in environmental outreach, public speaking and communication skills, exposure to nonprofit operations and resume building experience.
WOA will provide training, educational resources, volunteer service documentation or recommendation letters, WOA swag for on the job and a potential stipend at the end of the season.
Ideal candidates may include high school or college students, young professionals exploring environmental or nonprofit careers, retirees, or community members interested in local waters and sustainability. Oyster Ambassadors should be friendly, reliable, community-minded, and enthusiastic about engaging with the public or simply someone like you!
