Fall Art & Oyster Crawl
Kick off the fall in Wellfleet this year with The Art and Oyster Crawl, from 3 pm until 6 pm and celebrate two of Wellfleet’s most precious resources: outstanding art galleries and delicious Wellfleet shellfish!
Start by parking at the Town Hall lot and checking in at the tent on the front lawn, then follow the (online) map for participating Art & Oyster Crawl galleries! Discover the wonders of Wellfleet’s famous art galleries and enjoy an abundance of shellfish along the way. A local shellfish farmer and a Wellfleet Oyster Alliance representative will be at each of the galleries while discussing shellfish farming and WOA's mission.
The crawl also includes fine wine and craft beer provided by Ole & Obrigado and Devil's Purse Brewing Co. The participating galleries include Shinglefish, The Works, The Jewelry Studio, AMZ Gallery, Isabel Souza Studio and LAHA Gallery. Many other galleries, shops, and Wellfleet restaurants will also be open.
All ticket sales are final - no refunds. ALL Events are held RAIN OR SHINE.
Makers Market
Shop handmade goods from local artisans!
Makers Market will run from June 27th to August 29, 2024, from 9 AM - 3:30 PM, at Mayo Beach. No market on July 4th.
Shellfish Farm Tours
Farm tours on August 21 and September 18th are offered in partnership with the Wellfleet Historical Society and Museum. These farm tours are offered from an Indigenous perspective. Wampanoag native Marcus Hendricks will discuss historical and contemporary shellfish practices, the cultural significance of Wampum and quahogs in general, shellfishing and the relationship to the land: "Original Instructions," and the sustainability and reverence for ecology and natural aquaculture systems.
Children 12 & under are FREE and do not need a ticket. As an alternative, please consider making a donation to Wellfleet Oyster Alliance.
Boots or shoes that can get wet are essential. Please do not wear sandals or flip-flops. Shellfish shells are very sharp and could cut bare feet!
IMPORTANT: Some farms require a fair amount of walking on uneven sand to be able to access the site. Please use your discretion in determining if this activity fits your physical capabilities.
Reach out to shellfishfarmtours@wellfleetoa.org with any questions.
